Atria Watford has launched ‘Love Your Selfie’, the town’s first ever selfie experience, giving shoppers a host of fun, interactive spaces to capture the ultimate selfie – no filter required!
As well as providing the opportunity to capture great summer memories, ‘Love Your Selfie’ will also raise vital funds and awareness for local charity, Jessica’s Arc supporting Alice’s Arc. The Arcs are a network of families who’s mission it is to find a cure and better treatments for rhabdomyosarcoma a rare childhood cancer.
Located on the upper mall, across from M&S, ‘Love Your Selfie’ features nine immersive selfie rooms and multiple stand out backdrops that won’t be seen anywhere else! Rooms include a melting Rubix Cube, and a kaleidoscope of ribbons, a pink library, an illusion room and lots more all specially curated to suit every age from little ones right up to your serious content creators!
Open daily from 8th the 30th August, the hour-long ‘Love Your Selfie’ experience costs £5 to enter (plus booking fee), with children under 5 going free. Ticket holders get exclusive store offers and there are lots of prizes up for grabs, including a £200 prize bundle from MAC!
All proceeds of ticket sales go to Alice’s Arc who has three Arc’s locally in their network including families of Jessica Macqueen, William Rutt and Freddie Carpenter who all sadly lost their battle to rhabdomyosarcoma in recent years.
Simon and Laura Macqueen joined forces with charity Alice’s Arc after their daughter, Jessica, 9, died from Rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS). She had been ill for four months. Jessica’s Arc was launched following her death in 2019: They said:
“Until Jess’s illness we had never heard of RMS. We didn’t know that there were no child appropriate drugs to treat it, nor did we know that children affected had very slim chances of survival.
“We now know how essential it is to have a programme of research into RMS (and other rare childhood cancers) and we welcome any opportunity to share Jess’s story and to appeal for support to ensure that future youngsters have better prospects than Jess.
“Working with Atria offers us an amazing opportunity to inform the local community about childhood cancer, and to encourage them to support our fundraising activities. All funds raised go towards research funding for better and gentler treatments, and hopefully in the longer term a cure.
“Support from a high profile organisation like Atria means so much to us – thank you on behalf of our beautiful daughter Jess.”
Niamh Crowley, marketing manager at Atria Watford said: “We are excited to welome vistors to our pop-up immersive experience ‘Love your Seflie’ this Summer. It’s Watford’s first selfie attraction and will be a great day out with family or friends.
“We’ve seen all the hard work that Jessica’s Arc does in raising awareness and funds locally and we are honored to support the charity in their efforts and make as much as we can in Jessica’s memory.”
