On 8th July Hertfordshire will have the honour of hosting a leg of the Birmingham 2022 Queen’s Baton Relay, part of the 294-day relay throughout the Commonwealth ahead of the Birmingham Commonwealth Games. After a journey spanning 72 nations, it's safe to say we couldn't be feeling more proud to host part of The Queen's Baton's historic relay.
The Baton will arrive in Hertfordshire on 8th July, just days before the Birmingham Commonwealth Games begin, bringing with it the buzz and excitement of an international sporting event. The Baton will first touchdown at Lee Valley, home to not one, but three London 2012 venues, which will once again welcome the eyes of the world just ten years after hosting some of the nation's most historic sporting moments.
From Lee Valley, The Relay will head to Hemel Hempstead, offering local residents the chance to witness the truly historic as The Baton processes through the town.
