Your work out of office message has been switched on, any last minute panic-present shopping is nearly complete, and party season is in full swing! That's right, Christmas has arrived, and we've partnered up with our friends at Puddingstone Distillery to bring you two Christmas cocktail recipes that are bound to go down a treat this festive season...
THE RED ADMIRAL
You will need...
25ml Campfire Navy Strength Gin
20ml Port
50ml Apple juice, clear
Dash of orange bitters
Thin slice of fresh ginger to garnish
Method...
Shake some ice cubes, the gin, apple juice and the bitters vigorously in a cocktail shaker
and strain into chilled martini glasses. Pour the port gently down the side of the glass
so it sinks beneath the gin and bitters. Add the ginger slice.
THE CAMPFIRE ALEXANDER
You will need...
1 and a half parts Campfire Gin
1 part white crème de cacao
¾ part single cream
Method...
Shake ingredients with ice and fine strain into a chilled glass. Sprinkle with grated dark chocolate.
Take two kindred spirits, a myriad of sensory experiences absorbed from travels to countries near and far, throw in a realisation that good gin can be enjoyed equally as well outside under the stars as it can at the bar, and you have the birth of Campfire Gin.
Officially launched in November 2016 by Kate and Ben Marston, Puddingstone Distillery is Hertfordshire’s first distillery and is based in Wilstone just outside Tring. Our first release was Campfire London Dry. The range has since grown to include Campfire Navy Strength and Campfire Cask Aged plus a summer and winter seasonal.
Our London Dry won bronze at the American Distillers Institute Craft Distillers Awards and our Navy Strength picked up Gin of the Year in the Navy category at the UK Craft Distillers. Not only that but the distillery won Best Newcomer at the Hertfordshire Life Magazine Food & Drink Awards.
The distillery has an onsite shop which is open to the public on Fridays and Saturdays. We also host different events throughout the year and Thursday evening tours.
