Calling all mini explorers – adventure calls at the Natural History Museum in Tring this February half term! Take part in interactive trails, family challenges, and hands-on activities that bring natural history to life. It’s a chance to learn, play, and discover, with plenty of surprises along the way. Rainy day? No problem – NHM Tring has fun for all, whatever the weather!
Here’s something for those toddler parents! The Natural History Museum Tring are doing a ‘mini museum explorers’ filled with sensory toys and fun books for your little one to enjoy! The free session is for under 5’s and their grown-ups.
St Albans Museum & Gallery -
Experience the feeling of being behind bars and St Albans Museum & Gallery’s cell and courtroom exhibition where you can explore the history of criminal justice and how people from the Iron Age to today dealt with crime. Plus discover the 2,000 years of priceless heritage and beautiful display artworks on show! Or travel back to the Roman period and find out more about how they practiced and understood medicine. Art Deco Odyssey Cinema –
Dating all the way back to 1908 with the most incredible range of titles is Art Deco Odyssey Cinema jam packed with a variety of titles that can be enjoyed from comfy plush seats, plus delicious food plates, snacks and drinks that are on offer. Now this is a way to relax back whilst the children enjoy a movie day out!
The Alban Arena –
Dance, sing, laugh and clap along at The Alban Arena, a top entertainment venue for you and the children to enjoy a huge choice of musicals, tribute acts, comedians and dance entertainers!
Cloud 9 –
Dive and tackle at this incredibly exciting leisure experience available for all ages! Available at Cloud 9 is a giant inflatable obstacle course, dodgeball, human table football, interactive bungee-run, gladiator duel, the sweeper, dash and grab and a huge slide and bouncy castle! Now doesn’t that sound like a good day out…
XC Centre –
Whether your little ones like to climb, skate or thrill seek we have the perfect place for you adrenaline junkies to enjoy! The XC Centre is located in Hemel Hempstead and available to all ages no matter their experience!

Little Hay Golf Complex –
Now here is a more relaxing activity to take part in… Little Hay Golf Complex is an 18-hole golf course with a delicious restaurant and bar area available. Now you do not have to be experienced in Golf to come and play, and if you don’t want to take part on the golf course, go and let off some steam and hit golf balls at the Driving Range.
Standalone Farm –
For those animal lovers is Standalone Farm with all your farmyard favourites from; cows, chickens, goats, pigs and ducks! Make sure to take a look at the regular feeding sessions or watch the cow milking demonstration and do not forget to go and ride the tractor trailer! There are a variety of activities to do that makes a fantastic day out for young families from infants to young children.

Watford Parks and Playgrounds –
Watford is jam packed with fun parks and playgrounds from Cassiobury Park, to Oxhey activity park, King George V Playing Fields and even Chelsyn House and Gardens. Now we know that half term is always a busy and expensive time for everyone, so what better way to burn off the kids’ energy than by letting them run around the parks! Cycling is a great way to get the children out and about. Watford have a Green Loop cycling and walking route spanning 6.5 miles connecting key locations together.
Celtic Harmony Camp
Many love to spend their day out in the wild which is why we thought Celtic Harmony Camp would be a perfect addition to add to this list! During the half term you can learn about the magical woodland and take part in activities like den building, torch making and even cooking over an open fire in the woods!
Home Farm Glamping –
Head over to Home Farm Glamping during the half term period and give back to nature by helping them to plant trees. The aim is to plant 500 trees this winter and are looking for little hands to come and help! The session is led by their Wildlife Gardener Rob and Glamping Director Alice where you can find out more about local conservation efforts and the importance of the work.
