June is the start of LGBTQIA+ Pride Month, where the community gets together to celebrate love, raise awareness of issues that are faced every day by the gay community and advocate for equality for all. We’re lucky to have some fantastic events in Hertfordshire during this month, from informative workshops at the University of Hertfordshire to picnics in the park where you can sit down and chat with your community. Let’s celebrate love together this month…

Herts Pride 2024

Hertfordshire’s largest LGBTQIA+ festival is back for 2024 on 31st August at Cassiobury Park, Watford, so you've got some time to help plan this special event and get involved! Celebrate with live music, talks and a dog show – yep, back by popular demand Herts Pride will also include a show off our favourite furry friends – and applications are now open to submit your pawfect pup now!

North Herts Pride 2024

Returning for its third year on 20th July in Hitchin is North Herts Pride!

At this free event, expect to find a range of stalls that are all LGBTQIA+ focused and a great variety of pubs, restaurants, cafes and shops that suit everyone, as well as hotels for those who wish to stay. There's a possibility of more activities being announced for the evening, so stay in the loop and keep checking back here for updates!

What's more, with so many fantastic independent shops, pubs and more local businesses displaying their North Herts PRIDE stickers and exciting places to visit, Hitchin is the perfect place to stay the weekend and celebrate. Check out local trans woman, Kate Wilson's guide to the best spots to stay and visit in the welcoming community of Hitchin.

North Herts Pride Picnic

Head to Broadway Gardens on 1st June for a Pride Picnic between 12 -4 pm! Bring snacks, sit together, and get mingling with the community!

You can reserve a spot here!

Ask for Clive

Ask for Clive is a charity that partners with venues to promote inclusion and to create welcoming environments for the LGBT+ community.  They’re a Herts based company and they work directly with local communities and venues, and collaborate with law enforcement on training and reporting initiatives. They can provide venues with a sticker and briefing package for you and your team and in celebration of Pride Month, why not consider making a donation via their Go Fund Me page here.

Home Farm Glamping

The Queer Campfire will be coming to Home Farm Glamping for the first time this June. Join for a weekend of wellbeing, celebrations and wholesome fun in a safe and proudly queer space. Enjoy getting back to nature, and connect around the campfire in a welcoming space where everyone belongs.
